They only take you serious once you start doing it

Stop talking and bragging about your good idea that matches the likes of sliced bread. You are risking losing out on something great and your procrastination is killing you slowly. Come with me and let’s figure out a way that you can start sooner rather than later. Let’s be honest, it will stay an idea if you do not do something about it right now. Remember, people only take you serious once you start doing it. From experience I have learnt that talking to people casually or even seriously leads to very little happening. While talking to people, your idea resembles a crystal ball where you are predicting the future and making wild assumptions on what the future holds. I have come across very few people who consult a crystal ball with unshakable faith and belief. Talking to people with absolute conviction about your crystal ball experience (your idea) garners very little interest from them. The problem is that you are making wild assumptions and trying to make money on untested hypotheses because there is no execution to validate your assumptions. So why should they listen? Compare that to a person that is taking action. They are not talking about crystal balls, they are talking about their vision and the problems they are currently facing in executing it. Massive difference! They are on solid ground! When someone discusses the problems they are facing, it makes it infinitely easier for the other person to see if they or anyone within their network can help and by them helping it will move your ideas forward. Discussing ideas and problems after you have started DOING it creates movement. Then, as people see where they fit into it, momentum is created and you will see things happening faster and faster. It is a snowball effect. Action steps Step 1: Who is doing it? Chances are your idea is not unique. Read my article Will I really steal your idea?and make some peace with it that. There are 7 billion people in this world. Someone may have had a similar idea, but it is not the end of the world. Go and see who is doing it already. Step 2: How are they doing it? How are they delivering on that idea you have? Are they making good on their promises? If they are not, look at the complaints they are getting so that you can see how you can do it differently and capture the customers they are losing. You can get the customers they already have. Step 3: Who are their customers? Look at who their target market is. The fact that they are making a living out of service delivery for a specific market means that there is money to be made. How do they look like, where do they hang out and how much do they spend? Step 4: Do you know such customers? If you do know such customers, then go and get those customers, sell your service to them and make money. If not, see where they hang out using Google Adwords of Facebook ads and go get them. Run, Forest run! Conclusion As you can see it is not difficult – you can do this in less than a day, depending on what you are trying to offer or sell. I simplified it a lot. But, in most cases 24 hours is all you need. Go and do it, please do yourself, me and do the world a favour. Just take action – because none of us are taking you serious until you start doing it.
